Diabetic Foot Care
Due to the nature of diabetes, many foot complications can develop. These may include neuropathy, circulation issues, and other common problems. We take care of all these issues quickly and efficiently. Dr. Morrill will explain what you should do, avoid doing, and suggest proper footwear to protect your feet.
If you are having no problems, an annual exam may be sufficient. If you are having chronic problems, exams may be necessary 3 or 4 times a year.
Bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, and other conditions may be inherited traits, caused by faulty footwear, or a result of avocations. The conservative care options we offer include orthotics and physical therapy. If these approaches fail, surgical treatments are available, although we do everything we can to avoid resorting to surgery.
Feet are exposed to the sun just like your face and shoulders. We see more skin cancers on the lower extremities than you may expect. Dr. Morrill will perform a biopsy and provide you with an accurate diagnosis. We can do simple excisions if indicated, and if further treatment is needed, we will refer you to a specialist.
